GET SOME VITAMIN R

Last week I had the pleasure of spending the week on Vancouver Island.  It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.  I can see how there would be a lot of accidents along the winding highways because the views are very distracting!  Mountains, lakes, trees and beautifully painted together. At an artist retreat for Compassion Ambassadors we had a great time connecting with like minded people, learning from each other, having good food, good laughs and recreation. 

In our society we undervalue RECREATION.  Business comes first, money comes first, achievement comes first.  But there is such joy and healing that come from taking time for recreation.  Going for a walk on the beach, tossing a frisbee around with friends, painting, or doing something you love.  

Many people takes all sorts of vitamins for health, but along with all the great nutrients I think it's important that we take our vitamins R's.  REST, RELAXATION & RECREATION.  I've learned the hard way in the past that when you push yourself and don't take time to stop and smell the roses it negatively effects your body, mind and relationships.  

Maybe today take 5 minutes to think about a few things you enjoy doing and enjoyed doing as a child before all the pressure and responsibility took the life out of you. Then take out your calendar and put one of those things in your schedule this week.  You'll be glad you did.  Vitamin R is good for the soul!
